The Differences Between College and NFL Football

There are many differences between college and professional football. While the NFL plays with a broadly similar offense and defensive strategy, college football teams are very different from each other. Some teams have intricate playbooks and antediluvian schemes, while others prefer slow-play. Because college football is a more popular sport, top recruits are drawn to the most competitive programs, such as Clemson, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M.

The field has two hash marks running parallel to the sidelines. The closest hash mark is used when the football goes out of bounds on a sideline. The opposite is true if it is downed between two hash marks. The NFL hash marks are located 70 feet (9 yards) from the nearest sideline, 18 feet apart. While college football plays in a completely different environment, it is still a great place to develop your skill and learn about the game.

College footballs are made of genuine leather, while the NFL game ball is made of PU. They also differ in size. The NFL game ball, known as “the Duke,” is the same size as college footballs, but college players’ footballs are usually slightly smaller. The NFL footballs are also called “Duke” balls, and are usually called ‘dukes.’ The NFL game balls do not have stripes, while college footballs have two stripes painted half-way around. Chicago Bears wide receiver Kevin White prefers to catch balls with white stripes.

One key difference between college and NFL footballs is size. The NFL football is larger than its college counterpart, which makes them ideal for kicking. This difference in size has an impact on the size of the field. The NFL football has a larger circumference than collegiate footballs. Consider watching the Colts vs Ravens for a thrilling and memorable NFL game. The NCAA football is about the same size as high school footballs. The difference in size is significant in terms of field of play.
